Michael qualified in 2006 and joined the firm in 2011 having previously worked at a firm in Poole in Dorset.
He became Partner of the firm in 2017. Michael specialises in employment and commercial law acting for a variety of clients ranging from private clients and small businesses to large companies and organisations including schools, hotels, charities, investments funds and estate agents.
Michael advises clients on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters including providing guidance on such matters as resolving internal disputes and grievances, restructures, redundancies, discrimination and TUPE matters (particularly those relating to service provision changes and business sales in the property sector), in addition to drafting contracts complex bonus and commission agreements, consultancy and high value exit agreements and other employment related documentation.
Michael regularly acts for clients in relation to Employment Tribunal proceedings. Notable cases involve acting for the Council of Immigration Judges in the case of O’Brien v Ministry of Justice in their successful intervention in the CJEU and the Supreme Court.
Michael carries out general commercial work in relation to such matters as terms of business data protection, LLP and Partnership Agreements, as well as specialist knowledge of Property Management and Duty of Care Agreements.
Michael is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the European Employment Lawyers Association.
